Flower and bird watching in the Waalenburg nature reserve, in the middle of the Wadden island of Texel. As soon as spring arrives, this polder changes into a colourful flower paradise where the skylark sings to you. Together with the forest ranger, you walk in this quiet area where there is plenty of breeding. Paradise for black-tailed godwits and orchids: The forest ranger will be happy to show you, hear you and smell the lively Texel Wadden polder Waalenburg. Have you ever been scolded by the oystercatcher? Have you ever smelled sweet grass? Come along and marvel at the sea of flowers. The excursion starts at the Plassendaal nature farm at Zaandammerdijk 9 in De Waal. Plassendaal is an organic livestock farm on the edge of the Waalenburg nature reserve. Take a look at the deep litter here. From the visitors' area you can look out at the cows lying comfortably in the straw. Useful to know - Always check yourself for ticks after an activity in nature! - Wear comfortable walking shoes. - Bring your camera and/or binoculars!
