Pleasant Reminder - expo Henk Suilen

Henk Suilen is no stranger to Texel. He has previously exhibited with salt and in the Hoeksteen. His subjects are realistic, such as landscapes and people, which he then abstracts into atmospheric images in warm natural colours. The work has a somewhat photographic appearance because it is often mirror-smooth. But they are indeed paintings on a very smooth panel with structures and many layers of transparent paint. This creates a great layering. A number of paintings are made with patterns and relief.
