At 11 a.m. you can listen to exciting and tough beachcomber stories. Get to know the beachcombing. What is jutting? When are you beachcomber and… what do you find on the beach? Come to FLORA, the nicest family museum on Texel, discover the maritime past and present in the largest beachcombing museum in the world, with a collection of over 80 years of beachcombing. With us you will find various exhibitions about, among other things: the beachcombing, container shipping and the KNRM. We are more than a museum and there is plenty to see and do for young and old. For the children we have a fun beachcombing experience and there are various games to play. We also have a beautiful extensive playground with climbing equipment, swings and a cable car of 30 meters long. NEWLY opened: the TESO pavilion: Visit this unique TESO pavilion and take a journey through the history of Texel's Own Steamboat Company. In this family exhibition you listen to stories, watch beautiful films and play the 'student game', among other things. Imagine yourself in the maritime world of the ferry service. Step into the 'old salon' and experience an exciting journey in which all kinds of things happen... Do you dare? Visit the wheelhouse upstairs and experience how the captain drove the boat back and forth every day.
