2 sides Solo exhibition by Susanne Kunenborg. Susanne has been making art a serious part of her life for years. And that took some doing. But the art kept beckoning. Stimulated by professional artists, Susanne picked it up step by step. In 2016 she made a rigorous decision: she stopped teaching, moved to Texel and would devote herself more to visual arts. Unfortunately fate put a stop to this and she had to put down the brush again due to very sad personal circumstances. After turbulent years, there now seems to be room again and hopefully this is the start of a new beautiful period. Why 2 sides? Life has, in so many aspects, 2 sides and Susanne has experienced that intensively in recent years. Successive chakra colors are often used. The second "side": Nautical, is rougher, more figurative....more earthy? It is the appreciation for what is in the here and now and also the beginning of nostalgia. The paintings with the sea or ships reflect the love for water. Wickerworks were created to express the loss of our Oudeschild fishing fleet. The works are made from old fishing nets, used mooring lines and mounted in steel frames.
