6th High Mountain Loop A fun run on prehistoric ground: the Neanderthals were already running fast on this core of Texel, which was formed by the Saale ice age 100 000 years ago! The start and finish are on the synthetic track and at the club building of the athletics association behind the football canteen on the Haffelderweg. There are rounds of 7.3 and 5.4 km on paths between the "tuunwallen" and the sheep, with beautiful panoramas over the sloping area and the Wadden Sea. The youth runs a round on the athletics and cycling track of 1 km. Start youth 10:30, the others 11:00. With the boat from Den Helder 09:30 the location can be reached on time, but with public transport it is tight (Den Burg, stop Elemert). Registration fees: youth up to 12 free, 13 to 16 years € 2, others € 4. Changing rooms and showers available. Recreational run without prizes but with memory.
