Walking bird excursion Utopia

Accompanied by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide from the Bird Information Center, you will take an approximately 2-hour walk along Utopia and towards De Schorren. This part of the Bird Boulevard is very bird-rich and during this excursion you will meet several unique bird species. Utopia is a beautiful bird area within the dike on the east side of Texel. Here you can find breeding terns of different species and various waders on migration on the landscaped shell beaches and shallow waters. At high tide in the Wadden Sea, the waders also use Utopia as a resting place and foraging area. Halfway through the walk you have a beautiful view of De Schorren from the wadden dike. A unique creek area outside the dike where thousands of wading birds, depending on the tide in the Wadden Sea, go in search of food and peace. The Schorren is also known for its large colony of Spoonbills. During this walking excursion you will be given good binoculars and the guide can tell you everything about the importance of these areas for birds and about recognizing all the different birds. Please note: Meeting is in the parking lot on the corner of Stuifweg/Lancasterdijk.
