Kennemer Youth Orchestra in full swing! During the 2024 tour, the Kennemer Youth Orchestra will visit various port cities on the IJsselmeer per four-master and give concerts there! On Sunday, April 28, the orchestra will cast off in Kampen and sail to Medemblik. A concert will be given there in the Bonifacius Church at 8:00 PM. The next day the KJO continues the journey to Texel, to give a concert in De Burght at 8:00 PM. On Wednesday, May 1, these young talented musicians will set sail for Enkhuizen, where the orchestra will enter the harbor while playing on the deck and give a final concert in the beautiful Zuiderkerk at 3:30 PM. The program includes works by Bizet, Mascagni, Schubert, Mahler, Boieldieu, Elgar, and film music by Pirates of the Caribbean and James Bond! The Kennemer Youth Orchestra is a symphony orchestra for young people aged 13 to 18 in the Haarlem region and currently has 30 members. Under the inspiring leadership of conductor Samuel Tamarit Otero, the orchestra members work on their ensemble playing, technique, interpretation and personal style.
