Mudflat hike with mudflat hiking centre Fryslan

We gather at Waddenpark Avanti. This is also where we return after this hike. After the mudflat hike, you can rinse your feet at the washing area on the grounds. We walk the short distance to the Waddendijk and from the dike we walk into the vastness of the Wadden. The Wadden Sea is an enormous area, with a length of about 500 km and an average width of 20 km. It stretches along the coasts of the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark. From Den Helder all the way to Esbjerg! It is the largest tidal system in the world and because this sea is so special, the Wadden Sea has become a World Heritage Site. A special sea and at low tide you can walk across the bottom, mudflat hiking! Countless birds forage in the Wadden area and it is also a great place for seals. The guides will tell you about this based on what you see along the way. And, feel free to ask questions!
