Plastic collecting on the beach at Paal 21

TEXEL PLASTIC FREE organizes a beach cleaning action every first Saturday of the month. Everyone who participates gets a bag and we walk a little apart, and pick up washed-up plastic. This varies from threads (fish fluff) to tanks and crates. Usually we get a cup of coffee from the pavilion owner on the beach where we clean up. The beachcombers placed by Texel Plastic Free are regularly full. Texel Plastic Free also organizes beach cleaning actions with primary school students. That is always a lot of fun: The children are enthusiastic and fanatic cleaners! In addition to the clean-up actions and the beachcombers, we have placed cigarette butt buckets at events a number of times in the past. We will continue to do this. We have also introduced the cigarette butt pots. This is a can in which cigarette butts can be put while walking, so that they do not disappear into the environment. Because cigarette filters are not only made of plastic, but are also full of harmful chemicals. Plenty to do! Come to Paal 21 on Saturday. We will meet at the parking lot.
