Island musings - Karin Bakkers

Karin Bakkers (1960) lives in Zoetermeer but is permanently in love with Texel and often visits it. She grew up in an art-loving environment and her love for art runs like a red brush stroke through her life. As a pedagogical employee and art therapist, she worked with art in the service of others. Now she paints happily for herself. It started with a watercolor of De Schorren, but she soon switched to acrylic and oil paint. She still loves to dream away on Texel. She gets her inspiration from her countless walks on the island, the legends that live here and her own thoughts and dreams.
