Guided tour through the salt marshes of the Slufter The Slufter is one of Texel’s most precious nature areas. It is unique in many ways. It’s a salt marsh but is protected by dunes. Join this State Forestry excursion and find out all about this amazing area. You hike through a salt marsh with creeks and ponds, which you need to cross. Besides revealing the story behind the Slufter, the guide will point out the various shorebirds and water fowl, and salt marsh vegetation such as sea lavender and glasswort. The route takes you along unpaved paths on flat terrain. This excursion takes place in a part of the National Park Dunes of Texel only accessible with a guide from the State Forestry.
