With her figurative ceramic sculptures, Anouk de Groot (Hoorn, 1975) creates fairytale scenes. The power of her images lies in the humor, the realism, the poetic and alienating atmosphere. Her style is characterized by great craftsmanship and a great deal of attention to the detailed finish. “My images are hand-formed and I work with different types of clay, including porcelain. To finish my images, I work with pigments, oxides, slip and transparent glaze.” The collection exhibited in Galerie Posthuys Texel consists of animals in wonderful situations. “You imagine yourself in a fairytale world where Alice in Wonderland can enter at any moment.” Galerie Posthuys (Brink 14, De Koog) is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
