A temporary exhibition can be seen in Maritime and Jutters Museum: "container shipping". In recent decades, numerous containers have fallen from ships and often the cargo was washed up on the beach, including on the Texel beach. We have had, among other things, shoes, cosmetics, sleds, cans of milk powder and bags of nuts. Another great time was the stranding of torn open containers of cigarettes from the Hollywood brand. All of Texel was dragging those cigarettes. A Texel lady from knitted cotton from a washed-up container in 1982 knitted a sweater, which can also be seen in the exhibition. The container ship MSC Zoƫ recently lost over 300 containers near Terschelling. The beaches of Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog were full of washed-up goods, various items also washed up on Texel; including children's jackets, car parts and seats, all of which can also be seen in the new exhibition "container shipping". The exhibition can be viewed throughout the year in the Juttersmuseum Flora which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
