Ecumenical prayer Sunday

20 to 27 January is the week of Prayer for unity. On Texel, the Council of Churches organizes two ecumenical services on Sunday 27 January. In the R.K. Francisca Romanakerk in De Cocksdorp goes to H.J. Boon for a service in which musical cooperation is provided by Karen Haasdijk and Marlies Uithoven. In the Baptist Remembrance of Den Burg, chaplain G. Martens precedes a service in which musical collaboration is provided by the Texel double men's quartet. The theme of the services is "Straightforward, seek justice and nothing but law". The central biblical text for this theme comes from the Deuteronomy Bible Book, in which prescriptions about festivities automatically turn into the task of appointing judges and seeking nothing but law. This theme was prepared for the week of prayer by Christians from Indonesia. Indonesia has recently been in the news because of a catastrophic natural disaster. It is therefore very appropriate to spend the collection of these services on a small-scale aid project of Wilde Ganzen in this country. In West Java, Wilde Ganzen renovates a secondary school in a very poor area. The collection for this purpose is now highly recommended to you. After the services there is an opportunity to talk with coffee or tea. Everyone is welcome to attend a service.
