Performance of the St. Matthew Passion in De Burght

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, a performance of the St. Matthew Passion will take place in De Burght, Binnenburg 2, Den Burg by the Dudok Ensemble, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The concert starts at 3:30 PM. Tickets cost EUR 35 available via www.dudokensemble.nl and www.podiumplein.nl The Dudok Ensemble is looking forward to giving this extra anniversary concert in this beautiful place. The artistic direction is in the hands of the internationally renowned conductor Edward Caswell. As a true storyteller, tenor Nathan Vale plays the role of the Evangelist with verve. Soprano Cressida Sharp surprises again and again. Other soloists: Nicola Wemyss, Alto – Bekir Serbest, Tenor – Sam Carl, Bass – and Tiemo Wng, Christus. The ensemble, founded in 1999, has its origins and home base in Hilversum. The name of Dudok Ensemble is therefore obvious. Dudok compared designing with composing. As a passionate music lover, he viewed architecture as music in stone. In 2019, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, in addition to the three regular concerts in the Netherlands, the Dudok Ensemble made a very successful tour in South Korea with sold-out performances of the St. Matthew Passion in Seoul, Busan and Daegu. The concert in De Burght was made possible by the Texel Fund.
